I know a little bit about it from my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.noelsemple.ca\/\">day job<\/a>, where I&#8217;ve spent ten years\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canlii.org\/en\/commentary\/doc\/2021CanLIIDocs82#!fragment\/zoupio-_Toc63261972\/BQCwhgziBcwMYgK4DsDWszIQewE4BUBTADwBdoAvbRABwEtsBaAfX2zgDYBmAJg4EYAnAHYeASgA0ybKUIQAiokK4AntADk6iREJhcCRcrWbtu-SADKeUgCE1AJQCiAGUcA1AIIA5AMKOJpGAARtCk7GJiQA\">teaching<\/a>\u00a0and writing about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.noelsemple.ca\/category\/dispute-resolution\/\">civil procedure<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.noelsemple.ca\/category\/access-to-justice\/\">access to justice<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think that public policy should be evidence-based, and should take seriously the interests of everyone who is affected by it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Big changes are necessary to restore access to civil justice in Ontario. But if the Civil Rules Review process is rushed, and lacks the necessary evidence, it could easily do more harm than good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Ask<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you too care about civil justice in Ontario, please read the Civil Rules Review <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontariocourts.ca\/scj\/files\/pubs\/Civil-Rules-Review-2025-phase-two-EN.pdf\">discussion paper<\/a> or one of the  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slaw.ca\/2025\/05\/02\/no-half-measures-four-big-ideas-in-ontarios-civil-rules-review\/\">summaries<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CRR says that they will accept submissions until June 16 2025, via email to jennifer.smart@ontario.ca.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We don&#8217;t know whether the CRR will make all submissions they receive public.
